Sherwood Inn is the quintessential Muskoka Inn experience. Having visited before and stayed a whole extended weekend, Eric can vouch for how great of an experience it is! Located right on the shores of Lake Joseph, the property is tucked away under tall pine trees – making it a great spot to go for a walk and find some shoreline all for yourself.
The private docks, shared fire pit, and various Muskoka chairs around the property make it easy to explore. Sherwood is also a great way to enjoy the famed Muskoka region since it’s one of our best things to do in Ontario.
The room styles vary from rooms and suites in the Main Inn to Lakefront Cottages. Each room or cottage has its own unique charm, decorated to reflect the Muskoka surroundings but including all the modern amenities you’d expect: flat screen tv, coffee maker, ironing board, and bathrobes.
The Vintages Dining Room is known in the area to be a very elegant dining experience. Serving Muskoka classics, Sherwood also has an award-winning wine cellar to choose the perfect wine. What’s great is that you can eat here even if you’re not a guest of the inn!
At Beginnings Spa, located right at Sherwood Inn, you’ll have a relaxing experience in their peaceful Muskoka environment. The Inn has a fitness room and a games room. There are also various walking trails good for cross-country skiing and shoe-shoeing the winter. The area has many restaurants reachable by free boat ride, golfing, and the town of Port Carling to enjoy.
Pillar and Post Inn & Spa
Nestled close to the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pillar and Post is a really nice inn with a ton of amenities. Eric would know – he stayed there before for a close friend’s wedding and the place had everything: pools, bars and restaurant options, you name it. It’s usually named among the top accommodations in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The rooms were really nice. Basically what you would expect from a high quality inn located in the heart of Ontario’s wine region. Pillar and Post also had really easy parking and super nice staff should those be of interest for you to know about.
He didn’t get to try out the spa facilities but the outdoor pool area is quite nice and everyone – from couples to some families with kids – seemed to be enjoying the place! It’s also only a short walk to downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake where you can find all the best shops, attractions, and the gorgeous waterfront.
Burleigh Falls Inn
Known as “the Gateway Inn to the Kawarthas”, the Burleigh Falls Inn enjoys sunrises over Stoney Lake and sunsets over the dams at Lovesick Lake. The Falls can be visited in any season, with outdoor enthusiasts enjoying an endless array of options for recreation activities.
